For all of you that couldn't make the meeting last night....you missed a good
one. Derek Davey, OGS trustee, professional genealogist, instructor at Lourdes, consultant to Family Search and who knows how many other hats he wears, was our speaker. His topic was about New England research, but also included lots of general info, explanations about migration routes and lots of websites that I can't wait to visit. Afterwards, during the question and answer time, he talked about some of the ins and outs of Family Search and their new Family Tree function. Hopefully we can get him to come back and talk more about Family Search in depth. I will put some of the websites he mentioned on the Links To Help You With Your Genealogy page.
Next month's meeting is our annual Christmas Party. It starts at 6:30, bring a desert or cookies or any thing yummy to share. Also bring a wrapped White Elephant gift. It can be anything; gag gift, something you want out of your house, or just a small gift. (This year I think I'm bringing a bag full of gift bags---I seem to have more of them than gifts!). See you the second Tuesday of December!
